<ul>
<li>a (very) brief history of the web</li>
<li>the web as an <strong>evolving communication tool </strong>(e.g., the way back machine, blogging, social networking, grape radio and more)</li>
<li><strong>web teams</strong> (what roles are necessary for an effective web team?)</li>
<li>the <strong>core process</strong> for creating effective communications (the 4 Ds</li>
<li>and what we know about <strong>how humans use the web</strong> (IA, Usability, Poynter Institute research, Krug, usability and interface design concepts).</li>
</ul>
<p>It&#8217;s a lot of material and the pace will be fast and furious, but we can handle it, right?</p>
<p>And we&#8217;ll complete the day with a photoshop tutorial as we begin our first assignment.</p>
