Sarah Manski’s “Stationary Nation” ReDesign

Stationary Nation OriginalReDesigned PagePDF

The first page is the original website of Stationary Nation and the second picture is my redesign. The client is Stationary Nation. They provide free, printable stationary for email, note cards, invitations, and other everyday occasions.

Their target audience are individuals who care about ascetics and design. These people are: graphic designers creating business stationary, party planners designing invitations, homemakers making cards for their daughter’s birthday party, or couples looking at fonts for wedding stationary.

The client and I decided that the website needed an updated, professional look. To achieve this end, I used black and white photography and text with an improved font. The client approved this approach.

There are several problems being solved with the new web redesign. All the relevant information the user needs is now right in front and there is no longer the need to scroll down. Also, it is now immediately clear what is the purpose of this website. Before the redesign, the user needed to read the text to understand that this site’s purpose is to allow the user to create personalized stationary.

This client had a very limited budget, so they wanted a simple website that would be easy to manage. There was a two week deadline with payment made at the completion of the website. Approval was received from the executive director of Stationary Nation, who was responsible for the final editing and proofreading of the text before launch. The executive director was additionally responsible for providing the web designer with text, art, photography, etc. Stationary Nation owns the copyrights to all of the design materials provided.
